INFO:
Arcoleo was a left side or attacking midfielder and he's one of the most beloved players in the history of Palermo, where he played 126 matches and scored 5 goals between 1970 and 1974. He was important as well for Genoa, where he played 151 times - occasionally even as sweeper - and scored 8 goals from 1974 to 1978. He had a second spell at Palermo between 1978 and 1980, this time as captain. His total number of matches with the Rosanero is 221 with 7 goals. He played also for Taranto, Reggina, Nocerina and retired in 1983.
A fine player, Arcoleo played well on the left flank of the midfield with personality. He was one of the most technically skillful players in the team. He had a decent shot, sometimes tried from the distance. He always had great performances, although with occasional downfalls towards the end of the season, especially in a tough tournament like Serie A. He used to push forward on the left flank, mostly during counterattacks, to deliver good crosses. Remembered for his constistency, during his only Serie A season − before the immediate relegation − he was often the only who could even the odds against the strongest opponents. Unfortunately, he's remembered also for having caused the fatal faul in the 1973-74 Coppa Italia final that ended with a loss.
