Jacoboni was a goalkeeper who mostly played for Reggina. He played 190 matches from 1967 to 1974. He had the best season in 1970-71 when he set the clean sheet record with 1.088 minutes without taking a goal. In fact Reggina questioned Buffon's record of 974 minutes in 2015-16, stating that it shouldn't be extended to the whole Italian football but considered only as a Serie A record. He played also for a few other clubs including Ancona and Lecce and retired in 1977.
Jacoboni didn't have a big physique but that didn't stop him from becoming arguably the best goalkeeper in Reggina history. He was agile and had very good reaction. Therefore he was very effective when diving to reject the ball with his punches. Moreover Jacoboni scored a goal when he delivered a shot from the midfield to beat the goalkeeper, who was out of position.
