INFO:
Faloppa is a former left inside and central midfielder. He grew up at Milan but never debuted in the first team. After experiences at Arezzo, Rimini and Empoli, he joined Vicenza in 1970. One of Lanerossi's most emblematic players of the 1970s, he was a leader of the team that he captained for three seasons throughout his nine-year spell, scoring 24 goals in 284 matches. He retired in 1984 after three seasons in lower leagues.
Faloppa was a good midfielder, tireless, capable to attack and defend. Mostly left-footed, he had nice technique and was a very able passer. He liked to deliver short passes to the box when he had a teammate as reference point, otherwise he preferred to move to the side to deliver a cross. He worked very well with the other midfielders, constantly exchanging passes with them. He had a nice shot, sometimes using the power and sometimes the technique, showing good ability either with volleys or the outside of the foot. However he seemed more comfortable when using the head: he scored several times with headers, could make assists with them, in a match against Perugia he even overpowered a tall man like Franco Vannini in a few occasions. His defensive ability was shown mostly when he had to play arrear due to the absence of Roberto Filippi, controlling the midfield quite well. He seemed to suffer though against tough opponents: in a match against Juventus, he was constantly stopped by Cuccureddu; in one against Inter, Giampiero Marini easily intercepted him; in one against Perugia, he was overwhelmed in speed by Salvatore Bagni.
