Attack / Defence Awareness Card: BalancedINFOS:Certainly one of the most underrated Celtic players. Tommy Callaghan was a very good midfielder who mostly played as a more attacking central midfielder or on the left side of midfield, although he could also play at left back and on the other side of the midfield. He was tall and thin but had an elegant style of play, using his long stride to carry the ball forward although he wasn't terribly quick. He was also a noted crosser of the ball and a good corner taker, and had a very good engine, but wasn't known for his tackling ability. He usually partnered either Murdoch or Hay in central midfield and his forward runs from deep positions and creative ability complemented their defensive solidity. He wasn't a prolific scorer but was known for scoring some excellent and important goals in big matches and he had a powerful shot. Despite his often very good performances for Celtic he was never called up to the Scottish national team, which was unusual as he didn't look out of place with his international teammates at all.
