Attack/Defence Awareness Card: Attack MindedINFO:Ove Flindt Bjerg was a Danish footballer, best known for his time spent at hometown club Aalborg and with Wacker Innsbruck in Austria. Ove was an offensive all-rounder, playing all over the front line, often in the same match. While he didn't excel in any particular one area, he was a good supporting player, constantly on the move and giving defenders a hard time. He had pretty good physical attributes that made him ideal for running with and without the ball, and although he wasn't a technical wizard, he could use his dribbling and technique to keep the ball and try to beat the opposition on occasion. He would often pop up on both wings, in central areas and even tracking back in his own half, he always gave good effort. On the other hand he wasn't too creative and he also struggled when man marked by tougher defenders that could take him out the game, this prevented him from succeeding too much with Karlsruher in Germany, along with a serious injury he suffered in 1976. However he was so popular in Austria that he won their Footballer of the Year award in 1974, while winning three league titles and two Austrian Cups in the process; his popularity was such that at one point he was voted Wacker Innsbruck's third best player of all time. He also gained 18 caps for his national team and famously scored the winning goal against Sweden in 1976 that gave Denmark their first away win over their rivals since 1937.
