INFO:Hassan is a former left winger and centre forward. His career began in 1968. He played for Al-Bareed, Al-Tayaran, Al-Zawraa and Al-Shabab. He retired in 1987. He gained 107 caps for Iraq, scoring 29 goals, taking part to the 1974 Asian Games, 1976 and 1979 Arabian Gulf Cup, 1976 AFC Asian Cup and 1980 Olympics. Regarded as one of the best Asian players during the 1970s, he received offers from Belgian ─ alongside his teammate Ali Kadhim ─ and Emirati clubs in 1978.
One of the greatest ever Iraqi players, Hassan was a fast player and good scorer, gifted with a beautiful touch and capable to make wonderful goals. He was accurate with both feet, could score with first time shots, volleys and even headers. He was a brilliant attacker, who also provided many scoring chances. He showed his abilities even in a prestigious friendly match in 1979 against Derby County, ended in a 0-0 draw, when he troubled the opposing defence with his constant movements around it.
