INFO:
Mazloumi was a centre forward. He spent the majority of his career at Taj, where he played from 1968 to 1975. He then transferred to Shahbaz, retiring three years later in 1978. He retired when he was only 28 years old because of the effects of a bad left knee injury sustained in 1977. He capped for Iran 42 times, scoring 19 goals, winning the AFC Asian Cup in 1972 and 1976, the latter as top scorer of the tournament.
Considered one of the best Iranian strikers ever, evidenced by his scoring rate which is one of the highest in the history of Iran national team, Mazloumi was a great finisher who rarely missed a goal from a favourable position. It wasn't rare that he attempted to shoot from outside the box, sometimes managing to score. He was tall and a great opportunist in front of the goal mostly thanks to an excellent jump and a terrific heading ability that made him famous as he scored plenty of goals from headers even from unlikely positions into the corner. He was clever, stylish, accurate with both feet and regarded by many as possibly the most complete striker Iran ever produced. He wasn't fast and ran less than his teammates but he was more effective than everyone to the point that many believed that his presence in the field was the end of problems. He occasionally provided assists as he could penetrate the opposing defence with ease and put one of his teammates in a good position to score. During his time at Shahbaz, he scored 6 goals in one match in a 12-0 win against Beshahr.
