INFO:
Cormack is a former central or side midfielder. His career began in 1963 at Hibernian, where he made 184 appearances in seven and a half seasons, scoring 76 goals. After two and a half seasons at Nottingham Forest, he transferred to Liverpool, playing with the "Reds" 178 matches from 1972 to 1975, scoring 26 times. He retired in 1980 after a few good years at Bristol City, and short experiences with Hibernian and Partick Thistle. He capped for Scotland 9 times.
A short and skinny but well built player, Cormack was effective both in defence and attack. He was skillful, classy, and he loved to entertain, but he also was hard in the tackle. His fierce competitiveness often led him to have argues with the officials. From a technical standpoint, Cormack was highly creative, important in building up the offense, capable of dribbling opponents and passing the ball. On top of that, he was a threat in the opposition area thanks to his accurate headers and the natural ability to hang in the air. He took advantage of his prance style of running on the ball, his fitness and stamina to tire out his opponents and constantly create space for himself. He could push forward from a deep position in order to surprise the defence by sneaking in the box from a blind side, before eventually head or tap the ball in.
