INFO:Waqa is a former goalkeeper. He spent the majority of his career with Fijian team Nadi F.C., debuting in 1975. He retired in 1987 to dedicate to his main profession, which was fireman. He capped numerous times for Fiji national team.
Considered the best goalkeeper in Fiji history alongside Bale Raniga, Waqa was nicknamed "Gentle giant" due to his size, despite of which he was flexible, remarkably agile, excellent between the posts, and capable of making acrobatic saves. He was great in his role as he possessed good basic goalkeeping skills, solid defence and great vision of the game. Even though he understandably feared much stronger teams, he was instrumental in two historic wins, one against Australia in 1977 and one against New Zealand in 1982.
