Like many artists who raised the capital of the Côte d'Azur, his name deserves a magnificent place in the red and black pantheon. Marseillais by birth, Nice by adoption, Roger Jouve is the 3rd player to have played the most matches with the Gym jersey since... The creation of the club in 1904. To his credit: 359 games as Aiglon, spread over 13 seasons between 1965 and 1978 (for 31 goals).
A midfielder with a delightful (Brazilian) technique, twirling, with great passing skills and always turned forward, Jouve refers to an enchanting time, when the magicians of the Ray illuminate the city when they enter the track. Nice free kick taker with a fine curve and an exceptional left foot (although sometimes you couldn't see which was his stronger foot!), during his Nice years, he was expert in short passes, with occasionally launching a long ball or a weighted pass. In Strasbourg years, he was more into weighted passes and long balls. Not too aggressive in his game. At a glorious decade of the 70s as rich in good memories as regrets, the artists could not transform their inspiration into trophies.
Brilliant on the Côte d'Azur, Roger Jouve, who has 7 selections in the France team, forms with Jean-Noël Huck and Jean-Marc Guillou the best midfield in France. After 2 years in Strasbourg, he finished his career in Saint-Tropez. Excellent club player, very complete footballer with an irreproachable mentality, faithful to his colors.
