INFO:Dribbler, lively and twirling left winger with confusing hooks but could also play for his teammates. Nimble, occasionally disinterested in the game, but always lying in wait for the ball and then often irresistibly pulling away. Could cover the positions of winger and act as a trequarista. His main vice? - "the friend of good wines and attractive women ... lost no time growing up"
Born in Grasse, he made his name in Cannes, and at the age of 16 he started playing professionally with the Dragons, then with the Stade Français, and joined OGC Nice in the winter of 1963. There he started a beautiful love affair which lasted until 1975, with a short break of two seasons in Marseille from 1969 to 1971. With the Phocaean club, he became a regular goalscorer, striking 17 times in 1969-1970 and 14 in 1970-1971, the year of the title.
A prominent member of a generation of titans that notably toppled Barça at Le Ray in 1973 (3-0), Charly played 343 games and scored 93 goals in the red and black shirt. 23 of his 36 caps for the French national team were as a Nice player, another record. With 343 matches (in all competitions), Charly Loubet is the 5th most used player in the history of OGC Nice.
Between March 1967 (against Romania) and May 1974 (against Argentina), Charly Loubet played a total of 36 senior international matches for France and also scored 10 goals in this circle. He belonged to the regular formation of the Équipe tricolore under three national coaches (Just Fontaine, Louis Dugauguez and Georges Boulogne) and proved himself there both as a left and right winger, but was also set up as a half-forward. However, he never took part in one of the major international tournaments because the French team could not qualify for a single final tournament (Euro 1968 and 1972, World Cup 1970 and 1974) during these years.
