INFO:
Small in stature but lively in duels, Dolmans was a modern defender with a good cross, which Erwin Kostedde in particular made good use of. Very aggressive defensive lb, tackler, very persistent, sometimes not too accurate at it but compensated it with his fighting spirit. In the 1972 Euro he closely marked German and Hungarian wingers and occasionally had an attacking outburst. However not a very attacking left back overall. Decent mid-range passing, quick at interventions and with the ball, very decent technique and strong balance, good on his feet.

Dolmans made his debut in 1963 as an offensive player for fourth division club Verbroedering Mechelen-aan-de-Maas, he was part of the team that achieved promotion to the third division. Dolmans became top scorer with 31 goals. After two seasons he moved to second division team Thor Waterschei. With Dolmans as driving force and captain, Waterschei always finished at the top, but was unable to enforce promotion. He was transformed into a libero at Waterschei in between.

When Standard Liège recruited him, he thought it was to replace Nico Dewalque, but he replaced Jacky Beurlet and eventually found his permanent position as left back. He became champion once with Standard Liège in 1970/71 and lost two cup finals (1972 and 1973).

Dolmans was the left back in Raymond Goethals' Belgium. When his teammate Jean Thissen moved from that position to the center of defense at both Standard and the Devils, he seized his chance. He was a Red Devil 10 times and scored two goals, each from a penalty against Norway.

In 1974/75, Dolmans was given few playing opportunities after a conflict with trainer Cor Van der Hart and that is why he moved to FC Beringen. In 1977, Dolmans put an end to his career at the highest level, he played 176 games in the first division and scored 11 goals. In the 1978-1979 season he was active for one more season for fourth division Stade Waremmien as a player-coach.
