Constantly on the move, tirelessly seeking to enter a free space. Risi covers the ball excellently and can usually only be separated from him by fouls. He has mastered all the tricks that characterize the dribbling artist. He shoots from all positions, from both legs, equally effective left and right. His utility is exceptionally high, even if he didn't realize everything that was at his feet. Fast, agile, serious threat for the opposing defence.
The man from Nidwalden had shaped Swiss football for ten years with his inimitable instinct for goal. With FC Zurich and FC Luzern, he was Switzerland's top scorer three times in 1976, 1979 and 1981. Risi in particular shone in the treble season (75/76) and scored 33 goals in 26 league games. He scored 21 more goals than runners-up Walter Müller and Slobodan Santrac. In his club's 5-3 win over Chênois on 14 March 1976, he scored all five goals himself! This also earned the then 26-year-old goalgetter the bronze boot as the third-best scorer in Europe.
In addition to FCZ and FCL, centre-forward Risi also played for Buochs, La Chaux-de-Fonds and Winterthur in his career. In a total of 370 NLA games, he has scored 216 goals, which is still unmatched today. In the uniform of the Swiss national team, he played 15 international matches and scored three goals. Risi made his debut for Switzerland on 9 June 1974 in a 0–0 friendly draw against Sweden in Malmö. During his career, he played in the Euro 76 qualifiers and the 1978 World Cup qualifiers.
