Henri Michel was a legendary French footballer and coach, who achieved numerous honors both on the pitch and on the bench. He was an amazing player, an elegant playmaker with excellent passing skills, especially on long ranges, he was fantastic team player, who could always find a good solution for his team. Although he focused on organizing attacking actions, he was also involved in defensive duties, where his tackling ability was an asset. He possessed good close control, and was able to hide the ball from opposition, but also was able to dribble in motion and move past defenders. He was the player who dictated tempo of the game and also was pretty dangerous when shooting from outside of the box. He wasn't fast player and his running were mostly some short sprints.
