INFO:

Tasos Konstantinou was a Cypriot footballer best known for his time at AEK Athens. He was a strong contributor to the successful AEK teams of the late 70s. Although he was often overshadowed by his more famous teammates in the forward line such as Papaioannou, Mavros and Bajević, he stood out with his composure in big games and moments. He's most remembered for his many important goals in difficult moments for the club. He was an excellent penalty taker and and his calmness from the spot helped settle many crucial games. Sometimes he was even just brought on as a substitute to take a penalty late in the game. Apart from that he could play in several positions in both the forward line and in midfield, and was strong at both creating and scoring goals. He had good technical ability and was especially adept at playing through balls behind the defence. In his 8 years with AEK he won 2 league titles and a Greek Cup, scoring 65 goals in his 243 games. With the Cyprus national team he only played 13 games and scored 1 goal but his success with AEK makes him one of the most prominent Cypriot footballers to play abroad.
