INFO:
Furino is a former defensive or central midfielder. A product of Juventus, he spent the majority of his career with the Bianconeri, playing 534 matches and scoring 19 goals from 1969 to 1984, captaining the team for seven seasons. That after a season at Savona and one at Palermo. He gained only 3 caps for Italy between 1970 and 1974 because he couldn't make a good enough impression in the national team.
Furino was a small but strong, tough and aggressive player. One of the most consistent players in Italy at his time, he acted mainly as anchor in front of the defenders but often pushed forward to support the attack. Considered essential by any coach he had, he was gifted with immense agonism, great ball recovering ability and good run with or without the ball, through central position or down the flanks. In fact he was also used on the side before he came back to Juventus. He was indomitable in terms of resistance and a great tackler whose feet sometimes were like hooks. He was very tenacious, constantly marking any kind of opponent but especially the greatest ones like Giacomo Bulgarelli, Sandro Mazzola or Gianni Rivera among many others. He was also very generous and helped his teammates during the entire match. He wasn't among the most technically gifted but he still could dribble an opponent after faking a cross, deliver fine passes, shooting first time with both feet and occasionally even the outside. He could be a danger inside the box with his raids towards the goal, reaction and decent heading ability, mostly thanks to a good leap.
