Speggiorin was a left winger, centre forward or left side midfielder. He played for several clubs including Genoa, Vicenza, Fiorentina, Napoli and Lazio. He had though his most consistent time at Perugia between 1977 and 1979, when he scored 20 goals in 53 matches, considering all competitions.
Speggior was a promising player with good offensive qualities, remarkable speed, fine dribbling and technique, decent sense of goal. At Perugia, he was a striker with specific counterattacking characteristics, needed by the team at the time. He was reactive and effective inside the box, sometimes with headers, sometimes with first time shots. One of his best goals was a bicycle kick against Napoli on 10th December 1978. Considered even the possible new Gigi Riva, he unfortunately didn't live up to the expectations, maybe also due to bad injuries during his early career. He wasn't consistent and often wanted the spotlight. The biggest proof refers to an episode when he was playing for Fiorentina: the team had many injured defenders and the coach asked him to play as side-back but he refused and reported the situation to the Footballers Association for unprofessional treatment.
