Dieter Brenninger was part of the greatest ever Bayern winger partnership with Rudi Nafziger. He was mainly used as left winger and centre forward, had good scoring capacities but was also good provider, his crosses and passes were the big source of Gerd Muller's goals. Brenninger was intelligent player who was very good in quick combinations in attack, had good pace and shot, solid in heading and dribbling. Dieter Brenninger went through from 1954 to 1962 in his home club SpVgg Altenerding, located about 40 km northeast of Munich.
