INFO:Legendary midfielder from East Germany, one of the best DDR midfielders. He was the brain of Dynamo team, fast and mobile player located mainly on right midfield. Excellent technician and passer, had great vision and qualities of a leader, his runs on the right side and dribblings were main force of Dresden's offensive play, when he'd make great assisst after dribbling past few rivals. Reinhard Häfner celebrated in the 70s as a player in black and yellow jersey, the biggest success of his playing career. The then 21 -year-old moves to the 1971/72 season from FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt to SG Dynamo Dresden and established itself immediately as a regular player at his new club. Already in his second year at the SG Dynamo Dresden he celebrated winning his first of three East German championships. His greatest success, however, he succeeded in the jersey of the GDR national team when he won together with the Olympic team at the 1976 Games in Montreal / Canada the gold medal. In the final Häfner scored in the 84th minute the pre-decisive 3-1 victory over Poland. Reinhard Häfner distinguished himself as a footballer mainly by its leader on the court and was not least due to his exceptional technical skills over seventeen years, a absolute top performer of SG Dynamo Dresden. As the last Dynamo players in the "Generation of the Golden 70s " Haefner ended after 391 top-flight games and 64 European games in 1988 his successful career as a football player. The Dynamo fans have not forgotten the merits of the 60 -year-olds up to the present, as Reinhard Häfner the end of 2010 was elected to " Dynamos dream team ". He celebrated his second greatest success despite the most difficult circumstances in the 1990/91 season. Reinhard Häfner compensated as head coach of the heavy losses equal to several key players such as Matthias Sammer, Ulf Kirsten and Hans- Uwe Pilz, who had all previously left the club, and qualified with Dynamo Dresden won for the 1st Bundesliga in reunified Germany. Despite the grand sporting success Häfner was deposed shortly thereafter as Dynamo coach, the sports community remained closely connected to the present. Later Häfner worked as a head coach, among others, for the FC Chemnitz and Halle FC.
