INFO:Harald Konopka was right back, very strong tackler, great fighter, fast and endurable. Konopka had good crosses from the flank and powerful shot, physically also pretty strong and musculous, very determinate in tackling. In period 1970-1983 played 335 league games for Koln and scored 21 goals. One of his main goals in the professional team achieved 1977 in the derby against Borussia Moenchengladbach. The 5-2 victory for the first FC Cologne paved the way for the third time and so far last German championship of the FC. In the same season the team also won the DFB Cup and thus ensured for the successful season, which was allowed to see the FC now. Even in parallel to his football career, he took care of the life after professional football before: First, he served an apprenticeship as a clerk at Kaufhof, he later joined an apprenticeship as a commercial clerk successfully. Even today, he attended all home games of the first FC Cologne. Private remains outside of work for Kraft Foods and three grandchildren, however, little time for football. Konopka, however, is still common in the office of the first Encountered FC Cologne. He maintains very close contacts there to Özat Ümit, contact with Konopka recorded after he had seen in the movie "60 years old 1st FC Cologne" as Konopka filled the position of "offensive defender".
