Kulik moved to Bökelberg on the care of the Hennes Weisweiler in summer of 1971, took part at 1971-72 season in his first 23 games, scoring 4 goals. His debut in the Bundesliga, was on 2 October 1971 at the away game at first FC Cologne. In 1975 he celebrated the first German league title and victory in the UEFA Cup against Twente Enschede, in 1973 he participated in the final games against Liverpool in the UEFA Cup as well as in the successful DFB Cup final against 1 FC Cologne. Again, against Liverpool Kulik played on 25 May 1977 in Rome in the final of the European Cup champion in the 1-3 defeat as he stood in 1980 in the UEFA Cup in the final games against Eintracht Frankfurt in the middle of the Gladbach team, now as the captain. He came to a total of 66 games in the European Cup. In 1973 he came for the DFB to three appearances in the "U 23". He then played for Düren 99, than was hired from 1984 to end 1986 with lower division clubs in Switzerland (Mendrisiostar, ASV Chur) and celebrated in the Spring Series 1986/87, together with his former Gladbach colleague Wolfgang Kleff an unexpected comeback with the then second division FSV Salmrohr, which the two old mates could not save them from relegation.
