INFO:Pavel Panov is Levski's top scorer in the European tournaments of all time. He impressed with technique, dribble, vision and passing. But he was known mostly for very strong and accurate shot, and above all as the perfect performer of free kicks. He was in club a playmaker who prefered to play on the left side but in NT he was used in attack due to lack of real quality centre forwards since tragic death of Asparuhov. Panov always tried to shot on goal when located in shooting range but showed also good performance in playing quick short passes on the edge of the penalty area. He played for September (Sofia) (1963-1967), Spartak (Sofia) (1967-1968) Levski (Sofia) (1969-1981), Haskovo and Aris (Thessaloniki) (Greece). With Levski he was champion of Bulgaria in 1970, 1974, 1977 and 1979 winner of the national cup in 1970, 1971, 1976, 1977 and 1979. In total he collected 309 matches (301 for 8 for Levski Spartak) and 140 goals (135 for the club Spartacus and 5) in the Bulgarian first division. He was top scorer of the championship in 1976 with 18 goals and in 1977 with 20 goals for the club. Footballer № 1 in Bulgaria in 1977. Panov played in 44 games (7 as captain) and scored 13 goals for the national team, which participated in the SP-1974 in Germany (3 matches played), but his last game is on June 6, 1979 0:3 against England in Sofia. For "B" national team has 3 games and 1 goal. For youth national team he played in 28 games and scored 11 goals. European junior champion in 1969 "Distinguished Master of Sport", 1975. Panov participated in 36 matches and scored 22 goals in European tournaments. Assistant coach at Levski, led the Blues in 1986-1987 and from 1989 to 1990 Coach of Junior National Team in 1992-1993, Botev (Plovdiv) "September", Lokomotiv (Sofia) and Rhodope. Legendary striker of Blues in the spring of 2000 took charge of Lokomotiv, but was sacked in the autumn of that year after a poor start to Lokomotiv in the league. He was appointed Chairman of the Sports Technical Committee of the Board of Levski. In June 2006 he became coach of the Rhodope, and its place in the Board of Levski is filled by another legendary former player for the Blues - Kiril Ivkov.
