Napoli icon and legendary captain Giuseppe Bruscolotti was tough and combative defender starring in Napoli's first team for 16 years. He was notorious for his great strength, excellent marking of the most dangerous strikers and his fighting mentality. He started his career in Serie A on September 24, 1972 (Napoli - Ternana 1-0) and played until 1988. Young man came to the fore with the shirt of Sorrento in Serie B, before moving away, in 1972, to the Napoli team for which he played 501 games, getting the absolute primacy of team appearances. He was captain of the blue for a long time, before giving the armband by his will to Diego Maradona with whom was also linked by a great friendship. With the shirt of Napoli Bruscolotti won two Italian Cups, one league title and a League Cup Italo-English. He was nicknamed by "iron stake", underlining his impressive the body mass and physical strength. Among the few goals scored by Bruscolotti famous one is marked at the San Paolo against Anderlecht in the semifinal round of the Cup Winners' Cup in 1977, unfortunately not enough to go to the finals, another goal "heavy" was marked by Bruscolotti in the second leg the victorious final of the Italian-English League Cup won by Napoli in 1976. Still holds the record of appearances in Serie A with the shirt of Napoli, having racked up 387 appearances well.Since 2006 he has a football school with his name. He lives in Posillipo, where he owns a restaurant named after the date of the first championship of Napoli, also manages a point to SNAI Fuorigrotta. Sadly due to "GEO-POLITICAL" reasons he was never capped by Italian National Team like many other great Napoli stars. Gigi Riva said his toughest oponents were Bruscolotti, Vogts and Burgnich.

Stop the PSD copycats...
