Roversi was a right-back, occasionally set as sweeper and also capable on the left side for necessity. Legendary Bologna's captain, he spent almost his entire career with the Rossoblu, playing 440 matches and scoring twice from 1963 to 1979. He then played for Hellas Verona and Carpi, retiring in 1983. He capped once for Italy in 1971.
Roversi was a tenacious defender, gifted with very good sense of anticipation. He didn't possess very good technique, was effective at marking and at covering the spaces and the goal to reject shots and crosses either with the feet or the head. He possessed strength that he used to challenge his opponents. Whenever he didn't use it though, he suffered to attackers, especially fast dribblers who could run past him with ease. He himself had good pace and attacked whenever he had the chance to deliver accurate crosses ─ he occasionally took corners. He was capable in the air thanks mainly to a good leap.
