INFO:
Gori was an inside forward, used also as centre forward in many matches. He spent the majority of his career at Cagliari, playing 207 matches and scoring 39 goals from 1969 to 1975. He played also for Inter, Lanerossi Vicenza, Juventus and Hellas Verona. He gained 3 caps for Italy in 1970. He retired in 1979.
A complete player, Gori was supposed to be a prolific scorer, as it was expected. Instead, he was mainly the a tactically clever player who worked for the team, providing numerous assists especially for Gigi Riva and mainly with very accurate crosses from the side or long balls from the back. In fact, he often retreated his position during a match, helping in the middle of the field. He possessed good pace, especially on the ball, great dribbling, soft ball control, good leap and decent heading abiliy. He had decent strength despite his relatively short size but he often fell down at physical contact with an opposing player. He wasn't very consistent but when he was in good condition, he was a key player.
