INFO

Zvjezdan Radin is former Croatian defender and long time captain of Rijeka. He could play as centre back and libero but also in midfield if needed. Very determinate and tough in tackling, strong in aerial battles and could score from the free kicks. As a player, he was part of HNK Rijeka's golden generation which won the Yugoslav Cup in 1978 and 1979. He was a defender and is the second most capped Rijeka player of all time. Although one of Rijeka's most talented players, he never made an appearance for the Yugoslav national team due to biases in favour of players from the "big four" (Red Star Belgrade, Partizan Belgrade, Dinamo Zagreb and Hajduk Split). After retiring as a player at the age of 38, Radin became a coach and has managed HNK Rijeka during the 1994–95 season. Currently, he is the head of Rijeka's youth school. He played for HNK Rijeka (1971-84) and participated in the biggest club success, winning the Cup in 1978 and 1979. One of the players with the most appearances (621), scored 15 goals. A very reliable defender and libero. He played later for Kickers Offenbach (1984-1985), NK Zadar (1985-1986) and Lučki Radnik (1986-1988). He played for Yugoslavia young and an Olympic team. Whatever in 1994 gained the title of senior football coach and worked in NK Rijeka and in Egypt, United Arab Emirates and China.
