One of the greatest legends in Romanian football history. Dinu was lomg time captain of Dinamo in which he played as midfielder, meanwhile in NT he acted as sweeper. Very elegant player with trademark long diagonal 40 meters passes, good technician and with solid pace. He was even solid scorer, had good sense of anticipating and decent tackling. Dinu began playing football in his home town of Targoviste in Metalul. Even at age 18 he moved to a Romanian top club and joined Dinamo Bucharest, where he remained until the end of his career in 1983 faithful. His debut in the Divizia A for Dinamo, he was on 25 September 1966 against Steagul Roşu Braşov. Already in his second season he became a regular player and performer. With Dinamo Romanian Dinu was six times champion and twice winner of Romanian Cup. He played for the club 33 European Cup games in which he scored three goals. He completed a law degree already earned him the nickname during his active career Procurorul. His first try was Dinu on the Romanian national team first May 1968 against Austria. Dinu graduated 75 caps and scored seven goals. Since seven of those games where he scored two goals, as part of the Olympic Games were held, they were in 1999 by FIFA subsequently removed from the country play balance of Romania, so that the corrected record now reads 68 games and 5 goals. Subsequently, he served in the Bucharest Metalul Divizia C. In the 1987/88 season he trained with AS Armata Targu Mures a re-rising star in the Divizia A. On end of the season, he moved to Oţelul Galati, who had qualified for the UEFA Cup. With a coach Dinu Oţelul succeeded there on 7 September 1988, the biggest success of the previous club's history: a 1-0 home victory against Juventus, the departure of the first in the Round but could not prevent. From this victory, it was with the club but still downhill and Dinu at the end of that month, was released after six successive defeats. In the second half of 1988/89 season he took over Universitatea Cluj, where he left off in October 1989. It is unclear whether he was in the winter break, coach of FC Olt Scornicesti, since the club was forced accurately resolved at this time. In 1990 he was State Secretary at the Romanian Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports and launched in the summer of that year, the elections in the Romanian Football Federation. On 8 April In 1992, Dinu back as coach and replaced Mircea Rădulescu from a Romanian national coach.
