INFO:The greatest Bulgarian centre forward of the 70's and one of the best in general although he wasn't a prolific scorer. A typical striker of the British type, Milanov was good in the air and gave no quarter to anybody too. Good headers, goal scoring ability, menacing presence in the penalty area. Strong in the air, constantly in the penalty area, keeping defensemen on tiptoes, and very able to keep his own ground in the typical pushing and shoving of 1970s. Very strong, sometimes 3 defenders had to mark him and still he was capable of outmuscling all of them, excellent in aerial play, robust with high energy freeing space for teammates with his strength. He shoots equally well with both feet and head and is a real threat to the opponent's goalkeepers. 5 seasons with the team "Levski". Club Footballer of the period 1973 - 1978 year. There are 110 games with the team "Levski" (for the championship, national cup and European tournaments) and has scored 55 goals (an average of 0.5 goals per game)! Twice champion of Bulgaria (1974, 1977). Twice winner of the Cup of Bulgaria (1976, 1977). Adolescents "Marek" Dupnitsa. There are 21 matches for the national team of Bulgaria and has scored 4 goals. European record holder for most goals scored in an official international match. He makes this feat in 1976 against "Reypas" Lahti, Finland, match ended with a score 12:2 and 6 of the goals were made by Kiril Milanov! The "Levski" comes from "Academic" Sofia in 1973 and immediately became the team's top scorer. Part of the legendary "blue" team coped with "ajax", "Boavista", "Duisburg" and made famous matches against "Barcelona" and "Athletic" Madrid. Becomes a victim of the BCP in 1978, when punished for the rest of his life not to engage in football! Pretext was a scuffle with the football player of "Lokomotiv" Sofia Bumbo Stoykov. So underage another 30 years career Milanov was broken forever. For many years thereafter, "Gerena" audience continued to sing for his idol and favorite. Today many older fans with good expression of one of modern football, compare qualities and courageous game Kiril Milanov unforgettable.
