INFO:Roger Albertsen (March 15, 1957 – March 2, 2003) was a professional football player from Norway. Albertsen was known as a hardworking, never relentless midfielder, who never became a regular choice for the national team. However, his work ethic and dedication made him highly regarded by supporters and fellow players at his clubs. He lacked penetration with his short passing and dribbling but he was a good long passer, able to do some good crosses and passes down the line for the forwards to chase, even taking free kicks sometimes. He was slightly psychotic, throwing himself into every single tackle, not afraid to kick the opponents and was a very aggressive ball winner even if he wasn't really a "defensive" midfielder. In 1975 he moved to Den Haag. In Den Haag stayed for 4 years (1975-1979) and in summer of 1979, transferred to Feyenoord, where he made 28 games, scored a goal and won the Dutch Cup. The next summer came back in Den Haag where he played 18 games with 6 goals. Next stop is the Belgian Vinterslagk (it's known today as Racing Genk). In Belgium stayed for one and a half seasons (39 games / 3 goals) and in January 1982 signed for Olympiacos. Albertsen was a tough midfielder, "eight" of old data. Real motorbike in midfield, tireless, continuing to run even after the game. With Olympiakos played for two and a half years (01/1982 to 06/1985). He won a championship before his old friend (and former player of Panathinaikos) Arne Ntoken pursued him on return to his homeland, as he did. In 1985 he returned to Norway to wear the shirt of Rosenborg which won the championship in 1985. Injuries forced him to retire in 1987, at the age of 30. Albertsen made 25 international appearances and scored 3 goals in the Norwegian national jersey. His debut came in 1976 against Switzerland. In late 2002, after tests Albertsen learned he has a galloping cancer. The unforgettable blonde Roger, died on 02/03/2003 of damned disease just days before the 46th birthday.
