INFOVoted the best foreign player in the history of Ligue 1 in 2012, Safet Sušić is a legendary figure of the 70s and 80s. He excelled in ball handling and dribbling. The player led the game as he pleased by imposing his extraordinary technique and reigning in midfield. His dribbling, which he was able to perform in a handkerchief, allowed him to unsettle his direct opponents. Scored a couple of spectacular hattricks for NT and was selected as the best player in history of PSG and BIH. Unfortunately, "Magic Sušić" was also an irregular player, often accused of choosing his matches and of having too much waste in his sometimes unproductive dribbling. In 1987-88, Paris was playing to stay up. Houllier dismissed Sušić, accusing him of not defending enough. He began his career in Krivaja from Zavidovici, where already at 16 he started to play in the first team. In 1972/73 season he started as a player of FK Sarajevo. In the next ten years and 350 games played, Safet for club from Koševo scored around 250 goals, assisted by at least the same amount and dribbled past the hundreds of opponents. For Yugoslavia national team made his debut on October 5 in 1977 in Budapest against Hungary and scored 2 goals. On the next match, against Romania in Bucharest, achieved first hattrick, followed by another against Italy in Zagreb in June 1978, and another against the then world's champions Argentina two months later, in Belgrade. Such a debut in the national team has not been recorded! In total Safet Sušić has played 54 matches and scored 21 points for the team of former Yugoslavia. In 1979, Safet Susic was voted the best athlete of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the best footballers of Yugoslavia. After excellent performances in the national jersey and FK Sarajevo, and after he met the legal standard of 28 years of age required for going abroad, big rush was caused by the biggest European clubs. A deal with Inter was already agreed upon, Sušić allegedly signed preliminary but in all the Torino interfered with a better offer after the Sušić decided to sign for Torino, Inter appealed to Italy's football federation as a result Sušić got a one-year suspension for coming to Italy. In the early eighties, 1982. Safet moved to Paris Saint-Germain where he remained for 9 years. In 1983 they won the French Cup, and in 1986 they were champions of France. His football career ended in 1992 with 37 years playing for the French Red Star. In his words, the only unfulfilled wish of his career was to play for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Safet in 2000. on the occasion of celebrating 50 years of UEFA was officially named the best player of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the last half century. Sušić was at the meeting of the Executive Board of the Football Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina held on 29 December 2009 unanimously appointed as the new coach of Bosnian national team.
