Defence MindedINFO:Ceccarini was a left back. He's remembered for his time at Perugia from 1976 to 1983. He played 230 matches for the
Grifoni and scored twice. He was an ever-present during the club's golden era, missing an average one match per year in the first four seasons. He played also for Catania, Avellino and Messina among others.
Ceccarini was a consistent defender. He was a short player gifted though with great determination, thanks to which he gained the nickname
Tigre. He didn't have remarkable technical qualities but he was accurate and careful at covering the space and marking the opponents. He wasn't a world-class player but he used to stop those who were: strikers like Bettega, Boninsegna, Graziani and Pulici always had hard times against him. He didn't just act in defence but sometimes he pushed forward to support the attack with fine long passes towards the box or the right flank. Despite his size, he was capable in the air and one of his goals − the most important of his career − was a header in a 2-2 tie against Inter in 1978-79.
