Brindisi was a talented attacking midfielder in the seventies and early eighties, he had a great technique, was a good passer with exceptional scoring abilities for a midfielder and above all, he had a superior intelligence in the field. He was acquired from Huracán, where he played several years with the experience of winning a Championship and disputing a World Cup with the Argentine national team in 1974. He also played in Spain in Unión Deportiva Las Palmas in the late seventies. He formed a lethal partnership with Maradona in 1981 in the Metropolitano campain, being one of the key figures of the championship and achieving a memorable first season in Boca with a total of 16 goals (Maradona who was the top goalscorer, scored 17 goals). He was the team's playmaker, leading and deciding the tempo of the game often switching his position with Maradona in a deep-lying forward role. For some specialists, he was even more instrumental than Maradona for the title that year. He stayed at Boca until 1983 when he was forced to leave, the club had some financial problems and couldn't afford to pay his salary anymore.
He played 78 games for Boca and scored 27 goals.
He also played 349 games for Huracán, scoring 165 goals and 92 games for Las Palmas for a total of 29 goals.
