He was already a key figure in Newell's Old Boys achieving the Metropolitano title in 1974. He was acquired by "Toto" Lorenzo in 1976 to bring his technical touch, panoramic vision and game leading abilities in a then rough and hard working Boca team freshly crowned in the '76 Torneo Metropolitano. His talent was a bit sacrificed in that tactically well organized team as Lorenzo asked him to work and defend much more in the midfield than he used to, but he became notheless the brain of Boca, his 1-touch plays and pinpoint passes to Mastrangelo and Felman soon became a registered trademark in the team's gamestyle. In 1981, he was one of the players that were involved in Maradona's trade to Boca, he was thus loaned one year to Argentinos Juniors and returned to the team in 1982 but couldn't earn back his spot as Brindisi was the new man in charge in a playmaking role. He had a short spell with Huracan afterwards, before retiring. Zanabria played 179 games for Boca, scoring 16 goals. Achievements: Champion of Argentina: 1974 Metropolitano, 1976 Nacional Copa Libertadores: 1977, 1978 Intercontinental Cup: 1977 His Fútbol Factory profile (in Spanish): Spoiler: show |
