INFO:Niwat was a right winger or centre forward. He spent the majority of his career for Rajvithi from the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s. He capped for Thailand 85 times, scoring 28 goals ─ other sources report 55 ─ taking part to the 1968 Olympics, the 1970 and 1978 Asian Games, the 1972 AFC Asian Cup.
As a kid Niwat was a goalkeeper. His position was changed first to centre forward and then right winger to take advantage of his unmatchable speed. In fact, he was also a great short-distance sprinter and he's probably the fastest player Thailand national team ever had. Incredibly short, he possessed superb agility and was renowned for his shooting ability and swaying, slithering moving style. Understandably, he avoided physical contact with the opponents, which is why he wasn't suited for the centre forward position. Even as winger though he was a prolific scorer.
