INFOGermán Dévora Ceballos (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 16 November 1943), better known as Germán, is a former Spanish footballer who played for UD Las Palmas. He is the leading scorer in Las Palmas history. German played as inside left, player with excellent vision and collective play, had lucidity to make quality passes. Sublime technician with good shot from middle and long distances. He was also excellent set piece taker, many of his goals came from penalties. He wasn't fast and fisically prepared. Often criticized for lack of stamina and played just when he wanted, trying to save some energy for the last period of game. The prototype of the Canarian soccer player, with an exquisite technique, excellent shot, phenomenal head game, excellent handling with both feet. He made his international debut against Hungary (1-1). In his second match, against France (0-0) missed a penalty, and also played the third, against Turkey (1-2). In the 62-63 season the team owner of the UD is incorporated Las Palmas, making his official debut in the league opener on September 16, 1962 against Recreativo Huelva. His first goal for the yellow team gets it to the branch of Seville on October 28, 1962 at the Estadio Insular. Since this action with the first team fixture becomes part of the team and getting promotion to 1st in the 63-64 season. He is the team's top scorer with 12 goals. From 1970 to 1975 he is the highest scorer yellow, being in the 71-72 season to score the top scorer with 15 goals, behind Porta (Granada) who scored 17. His last goal made it to F. C. Barcelona on January 15, 1977 at the Estadio Insular. He scored 109 goals in league games in 16 seasons, which makes him the top scorer in the history of the UD Las Palmas. His last appearance with yellow color was the April 15, 1978 in Salamanca Helmántico Stadium, three days before the historic final against FC Copa Barcelona, where, despite the requests of the fans that came out to the field, Miguel Muñoz did not align him, thereby ending his brilliant record as a player.
