José Claramunt Torres (born 10 July 1946) is a Spanish retired footballer who played as a midfielder. In the beginning of his career he played more advanced role as side midfielder or winger, but Alfredo di Stefano upon his arrival at the club, moved him to central midfield position. He was one of the leading box to box midfielders of his generation. Very complete player, only weakness in his game was aerial play. He could create and score, tackle and mark the opponent. Pep was very mobile and good penalty taker. At his time in Valencia, he was actually a creator in midfield with precise passes and great skills with the ball. He had also good speed for a midfielder. Claramunt landed on the Mestalla before age twenty. During his career took 7, 8 , 10 and 11 at the back, and at maturity became 6, but though always liked the right side, was irreducible in any conventional job.
