Oldřich Rott was legendary Dukla midfield engine distinguished by his tenacity and mobility. Rott played in central midfield or on the right side, although he was striker intially, he even managed to score 50 goals in Czechoslovak league. Subtle, hard-working, unobtrusive, valiant, indispensable for the team, with the heart of a fighter and the diligence of a bee. His greatest contribution to the team was just the huge scope of work for the entire match through the width and depth - up to extreme positions in defense and attack. He scored a number of important goals, because he could shoot from twenty yards with both left and the right foot. He could send good cross from some set pieces, scored a lot from distance. Rott joined the Dukla as a striker from Hradec Králové, where he transferred from Trebechovice and that before the war managed to score two league goals. Call-up he opened the door to the big football jersey and Ulrich welcomed change. Vejvoda but had in attack other athletes, Rott he threw as midfielder.
