Defence MindedINFO:Lorusso was a right-back. His career began in 1966 in minor leagues. He joined Lecce in 1970 and stayed until 1983, when he tragically died with his teammate Ciro Pezzella: the two players were supposed to fly with the team to Varese, where they would've played a match; however, because of their fear of flights, they decided to go by car to the railway station to take the train and in this circumstance they died in a car accident. The right-back is Lecce record-man for appearances with 418.
Lorusso was a short but strong defender, gifted with great temperament, good sprint and was effective at intercepting. He used to mark his opponent tightly for the entire match, trying not leave him space to move but also committing many fauls. He wasn't technically good and didn't join the attack often - he scored only once - but he simply did his defensive job. Lorusso himself said in an interview: << my playstyle is based on strength, agonism and effort, that I put in every single match. The height is obviously my limit but, for example, in a game against Torino I didn't give Paolo Pulici a single chance to score and at the end of the contest he even told me to get lost! >>.
