INFOLadislav Jurkemik (born 20 July 1953) is a former Slovak football player and later a football manager. Jurkemik, whose strengths included his heading, long-range shooting and good vision, developed into one of the best central defenders in the Czechoslovak league. In the federal league, this excellent header and skillful central defender (sometimes also a midfielder), playmaker and scorer from longer distances linked his career with Inter Bratislava. He became famous for his free kicks. Ladislav played for Jacovce, then for Kablo Topoľčany. The defender joined Inter Bratislava in 1972, where he was to spend the majority of his career. In the next few years Jurkemik developed to one of the best central defender of the Czechoslovak league. In the Czechoslovak national team Jurkemik debuted on June 7, 1975 in a 0-0 draw against Austria in Vienna's Prater Stadium. The next international match he was missing, but from October 1975 he was regularly employed. His biggest success probably Ladislav Jurkemik at the European Championships in 1976, which was Czechoslovakia win. In the final against the Federal Republic of Germany, although he played only the last ten minutes, but scored the important 4:3 on penalties. After the European Championships 1980 in Czechoslovakia won the bronze medal, joined Jurkemik for a season to Dukla Banská Bystrica and returned in the connection back to Bratislava. He also played in the disappointing for the Czechoslovaks World Cup 1982. His international career ended with a 1-1 draw against Romania Juremik in Bratislava. In 57 international matches he had scored three goals, one time he was captain. In the 1st Czechoslovak league Ladislav Jurkemik played 315 matches and scored 53 goals. He moved in the summer of 1984 to FC St. Gallen, for whom he played for four years. From 1989 to 1992 he was player-coach at FC Chur. Jurkemiks first coaching position was in the season 1992/93 SK Sturm Graz. This was followed, with the exception of the SV Kapfenberg, one-year commitment: Spartak Trnava 1993/94, SV Kapfenberg (1994-1996), Tauris Rimavská Sobota 1997/98, MFK Ružomberok 1998/99, KOBA Senec 1999/00 and MŠK Žilina 2000/01. On 1 January 2002 Jurkemik Ladislav Slovak was appointed coach. He remained until the end of 2003 in the office, qualifying for the finals of Euro 2004, he missed much with his team. He then oversaw the Slovak U-21 selection for a few months before he was again responsible for the team of MŠK Žilina from 1 April 2004. In the remaining weeks of the season 2003/04 he led the Žilina Slovak Championship. Shortly before the end of the 2004/05 season he was released. Ladislav Jurkemik then worked as a manager at Inter Bratislava, on 29 March 2006, he took over the post of the head coach. Since March 2011 he has been coach of the Slovakian first division club MFK Ružomberok, he was a coach in the MFK in the fall of 2010.
