Perico was a left-back or defensive midfielder. He spent most of his career at Ascoli, playing 271 matches from 1973 to 1981. Then he played 151 games for Atalanta from 1981 to 1987, when he retired. He played also at Spezia and Cremonese.
Perico was a good defender and man-marker but mostly a hardworking runner who liked to push forward very often to deliver a cross in the box or to shoot − 9 his goals with Ascoli. In fact he was gifted with a powerful shot and he often tried to score from the distance. He was irreplaceable thanks to a high consistency.
