Busi was a sweeper or centre back. He played most of his career for Brescia from 1963 to 1973: 192 matches with the club and no goals. In the middle he played at Reggina in 1966-67 and he played also at Genoa and Mantova before retiring in 1976.
Busi was gifted with good feet, excellent technique and the ability to lead and handle the defence. He himself though seemed to be less effective when defending. Maybe it was because of his not too strong physique but when he was in 1-on-1 duels, he often committed fauls or lost the challenge − in this case leading sometimes the stuck goalkeeper to interfere.
