Zucchini was an enforcer defensive midfielder. He spent most of his career at Pescara: 190 matches and 25 goals from 1973 to 1979. He had also a good season at Lazio in 1979-80. He played also for Ascoli, Avellino, Vicenza and Salernitana, where he retired in 1983.
Zucchini was mainly an offensive player and a good header, very able when supporting the attack. His strong physique combined with a good running ability helped him being effective in one-on-one duels with his opponents, beating them, gaining to space to advance forward and try the shot on goal. His dribbling and passing ability as well were notable.
