He captained the NT to the silver medal at 1968 Euro. He played as a right back, and was incredibly offensive for period which he played in. He was able to perform countless runs on the right side and deliver excellent crosses, and then return to the defense and perform well there too. He was tough, with good speed, but wasn't much of a technician. He was very disciplined and combative player. His playing style was simple - he would help his teammates in defense until they take the ball from the opponent, and then, he would transform into winger, who's waiting for the right time to run forward, get the ball and deliver a cross. He's known for his sliding tackles, his main weapon in defense.
