INFO:
Dell'Angelo was an inside. He played for many clubs including Hellas Verona, Mantova and Monza. He had though his best time at Fiorentina between 1961 and 1963, Lanerossi Vicenza in the two following seasons, Atalanta from 1966 to 1969, making respectively 70, 57 and 86 appearances, scoring 10, 6 and 5 goals. He retired in 1976.
Dell'Angelo was a midfielder gifted with great pace and commitment. Tireless and constantly active like a marathoner, he was everywhere in the field, working exceptionally in both attack and defence, setting up the play with accurate crosses and quick exchanges with his teammates or staying in the back to support the defenders and breaking the opposing pression. In fact, he often was considered a wrong offensive player, since it seems he was more suited for a playstyle made of protection and interdiction followed by a set-up of the attack. His speed though, combined with good strength, made him capable of challenging the defenders ─ sometimes two of them were needed to put him down ─ shooting on the run with power from favorable positions ─ even though he wasn't a very accurate shooter ─ or even anticipate the goalkeeper and beat him with a header.
