INFO:Salih was a side-back. His career started in 1959 at Al-Shati. He joined Al-Hilal Omdurman in 1962. He eventually spent the majority of his career at Al-Neel Wad Madani from 1965 to 1974. Representing Sudan from 1963 to 1972, he captain his national team, capped 56 or 64 times, scoring not less than 3 goals (one against Libya and two against Oman in 1965), and took part to the African Cup of Nations in 1963 to 1970, the latter of which he won.
A defender equally effective in attack and defence, Salih was primarily known for his ability to create attacking plays from the left side after converging a bit towards the center. Even though his natural position was left-back, he was often asked to play on the right side, proving to be remarkable on either flank. He was a modern player considering the era and country he played in. He could stop the opposition's attacks and join his forward line to score goals, particularly from long range. He was also a good dribbler and could position himself correctly in order to receive the ball. And once the offense ended, he would quickly go back to his defensive position. He had many legendary performances against teams like Kenya, Ethiopia, Egypt, Ghana, Cameroon, Tunisia, Nigeria, and clubs like Vasco da Gama, Dynamo Kyiv, Crvena Zvezda, Al-Ahly.
