INFO:
Lazzotti is a former inside forward, occasionally deployed as winger. His career started in 1960 at Fiorentina. He played for Messina in 1961-62 before transferring to Foggia where he had his best time, making 171 appearances and scoring 17 goals from 1962 to 1967. He retired in 1971 after playing for Spal, Atalanta and Lucchese.
Equally comfortable on either side, Lazzotti linked up midfield and forward line very well. He had a keen disposition to build up the attack thoughtfully and provided numerous scoring chances with his accurate passes and crosses. In fact, he was the main free kick and corner taker due to his ability to put the main forward in a good scoring situation. He had a solid dribbling that allowed him to carry the ball forward and drive his teammates, but he never overused it. While he possessed a shot with good power, he mostly scored from inside the box after taking advantage of a defensive mistake or at the end of a run towards the goalkeeper. His game though wasn't focused only on the offense. In certain matches, he was particularly useful when he fell back to midfield in support of the half-backs to start the attack, block the opposition's offense, and use a lot of energy in covering tasks.
