BalancedINFO:Johnny Giles is a legend of Irish football, most known for his 12 years with Leeds United. Giles formed a fantastic midfield pair with Billy Bremner and the two of them were the driving force of the generation that took Leeds from the Second Division all the way to the European Cup final. Giles was an excellent combination of skill, intelligence and toughness. He was the playmaker of the team, delivering pinpoint passes with both feet and always making himself available to receive the ball and keep it moving. He was most known for his long passes out to the wingers to start attacks. On the defensive side he gained a reputation (like many in that Leeds team) of being a tough tackler despite his short height. While he wasn't as brutal as Bremner, he was not a player to mess with. His game was mostly built around roaming around and linking the play from deeper positions, he didn't often join in the attack. He was an excellent penalty taker and had quite a powerful shot from the edge of the box. His telepathic relationship with Bremner allowed them to dominate teams with and without the ball, and their completeness allowed them to easily play both offensively and defensively depending on the situation. Giles is considered one of the best players Ireland has ever produced although he played in a time where the national team wasn't successful.
