Kemal Šestić was versatile midfielder famous for his rocket shot, together with Borivoje Kostić the strongest in Yugoslavia at the time, a real nightmare for keepers. He was excellent free kick taker, very strong and pretty fast, great worker. He was in the academy and the first team arrived in 1958. year. In his first season he entered an appearance in the season 61/62 he played ten matches after which he started. On two occasions Šestić the scoring for the club in the seasons 1964/65 and 1965/66. In the season 1964/65 Šestić was the top scorer with seven goals in 37 games while coming scored 15 goals in 48 games played. Older fans of football in Mostar remember Šestić's decisive goal against Dinamo Zagreb 15 May in 1966. or against Hajduk 14 days later. His great appearance for Velez Šestić played 19 June in 1966. when it was at Maracana three shot Krivokuca Stars and Velez was struck by as much as 6:2 victory. In total, the jersey Velez, Šestić played 236 league games and scored a total of 43 goals. Besides playing career Šestić on two occasions and was the director of Velez. The last time he decided to reactivate after years of delay and Velez took the worst possible situation, when the club was second division. Unfortunately Velez had already become the first league games, but due to dirty actions and the future of Unity failed. Lately Kemal was nailed to the bed, he led a big fight with the illness, but ultimately lost on January 15th, 2009.
