Attack / Defence Awareness Card: Attack MindedINFOJosé Parodi played mainly as inside forward and centre forward but also played in midfield and sometimes even on the wing. He had fantastic heading abilities and impressive jump but also excellent dribbling and agility. Very combative with good pace, also known for his great solo runs from midfield where he'd beat couple of defenders in a row with stunning dribbling. At the beginning of the fifties when he started his first steps at Club Sportivo Luqueño club that gave many great Paraguayan football. He quickly consolidated his reputation as a great header, getting his first title with the Sportivo Luqueno (1951 and 1953). Was the start of his career that helped him signing for FC Padova (1955), and then move to Genoa FC (1956), in both Italian teams remained one season. He returned to Luqueño and hence was called to join the selected Paraguayan who participated in the 1958 World Cup in Sweden. Following a brilliant tournament, along with other Paraguayans ad in Spain and played for two seasons at UD Las Palmas. In 1960 up to France where he shone in Nimes Olympique until it became coach in Mulhouse. In Suecia'58 Parodi played in three games of your choice in getting the final two goals. One against Scotland, which also marked the known Re and Aguero, who served for the victory of the Americans 3-2. Parodi debuted with the U.D. the September 21, 1958 at the Stade de Buenavista (now Carlos Tartiere) vs Oviedo party canaries lost 2-1, winning the yellow goal the Paraguayan, who by all accounts was a brilliant performance. He presented the following Sunday at Estadio Insular against Sporting Gijon and returned to get two goals from 4-0 than yellow endorsed the Asturias. Once retired from professional football, went together to the sport, dedicated to teaching children in his beloved city of Luque. In August 2006, just days shy of 74 years, died in his hometown.
