Former German striker with good scoring record in bundesliga but was closed by Gerd Muller in NT. He was very quick striker with great dribbling, very mobile and fine technician. Rupp was also good provider and never acted as classic centre forward, instead run on the wings and made crosses as well, although he was good scorer, knew to place the ball well although didn't possess some significant kicking power. The little striker, who had begun the Hessian FC Solms Castle (near Wetzlar) with soccer and in 1964 joined the station SV Wiesbaden to the final of the German amateur championship in professional football began in 1964 his career in the Regionalliga West under coach Hennes Weisweiler at Borussia Moenchengladbach. In his first season there he was promoted to the Bundesliga. Moenchengladbach was in the West Regional with a remarkable goal difference of 92:39 front gates master Alemannia Aachen and Fortuna Düsseldorf. Rupp played only one round Gladbacher all 34 games and scored 24 goals with the most goals. In the Play-off against SSV Reutlingen, Holstein Kiel and Wormatia Worms, there were also four more goals. In his first season in German football House of Lords, in 1965/66, he played all 34 games and scored 16 goals. End of May 1966 he was reported in the 40's list of the DFB to FIFA in the circle of offensive players for the World Cup. For inclusion in the 22er circuit but it was enough then. After the 1966 FIFA World Cup Germany coach Helmut Schon tried some new players. According to Bernd Rupp came on 12 October 1966 his only international match of his career against Turkey. Germany won 2-0 and Rupp scored the goal for 2-0 in the 85th Minute. In the same international match was also his national team debut Gerd Mueller. The scorer of German football, however, remained in the game without scoring. 1967 Rupp moved to Werder Bremen, where he played for two years. In 1969 he came to the first FC Cologne and played again in the Rhineland. He finished his career in 1972-1974 again at Borussia Moenchengladbach. In 1973 he reached the Gladenbacher the biggest success of his career. He won the final - that was one of the "best, playing high-quality and most exciting in the history of this competition" in the annals received - in the DFB Cup against his former club 1 FC Cologne 2-1. Bernd Rupp played a total of 274 Bundesliga appearances and scored 119 goals. Rupp became German Vice Champion twice - in 1968 with Werder Bremen and Borussia Moenchengladbach in 1974. With the first FC Cologne, he was in 1970 and 1971 respectively in the DFB Cup final. Even in the two UEFA Cup finals on the 10th and 23 May 1973 against Liverpool, he was in for Borussia Moenchengladbach use. His last league game played fast and dribbling of strong attackers on the 34th Day of the season 1973/74, on 18 May 1974, a 5-0 home win against Bayern Munich. Allan Simonsen and Jupp Heynckes he formed the triple attack of Borussia, who landed only one point behind the 1974 German champions. In 1974 he returned to the Hesse division side SV Wiesbaden.
